Millennium Beauty Institute
Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
Millennium Beauty Institute ("MBI") is committed to ensuring that our website at millenniumbeautyinstitute.com is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We are working to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We review new and updated content against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria and address issues as they are identified. If you encounter a barrier or difficulty using our website, please contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.
Applicable Standard
This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. WCAG 2.1 is organized around four principles:
- Perceivable — Content and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
- Operable — User interface components and navigation must be operable.
- Understandable — Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable.
- Robust — Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
Measures We Have Taken
In developing and maintaining this website, MBI has taken the following steps to support accessibility:
- Skip-to-content link: A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, menus) are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone. Visible focus indicators are displayed for keyboard users.
- Color contrast: Text and meaningful graphical elements are designed to meet a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text against their backgrounds, in accordance with WCAG 2.1 SC 1.4.3 and SC 1.4.11. Our gold accent color is used only for decorative purposes on dark backgrounds; a darker accessible variant is used for text on light backgrounds.
- Alternative text: All informative images include descriptive
alttext. Decorative images are marked withalt=""oraria-hidden="true". - Form accessibility: All form fields include associated visible labels. Error messages are announced to screen readers via ARIA live regions. Forms include validation feedback that does not rely solely on color.
- ARIA live regions: Dynamic content changes (form submission confirmations, error messages, step progress in the booking flow) are announced to screen readers using appropriate
aria-liveattributes. - Semantic HTML: Pages use semantic HTML5 elements (
main, nav, header, footer, section, article) to provide meaningful document structure. Headings are used in a logical hierarchy. - Responsive design: The Site is fully responsive and functions at zoom levels up to 400% without loss of content or functionality.
- Reduced motion: Animations and auto-playing effects respect the user's
prefers-reduced-motionmedia preference. Users who prefer reduced motion will see static alternatives. - Font scaling: Text is sized using relative units, allowing users to increase browser default font sizes without breaking layout.
- Touch targets: Interactive elements on mobile devices are sized to a minimum of 44×44 CSS pixels in accordance with WCAG 2.5.5.
- 3D / Spline scenes: Interactive 3D content degrades gracefully — users on low-memory devices or who prefer reduced motion will see a static fallback image instead.
- Video content: Background videos are decorative and marked
aria-hidden="true". Informational video content includes captions and audio descriptions where required.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content on the website may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Known or suspected limitations include:
- Third-party widgets: The live chat widget (Tidio) and embedded Google Maps iframe may not be fully accessible. We are working with our vendors to improve this. As an alternative, all contact information is also available on the Contact page and via phone.
- PDF documents: Any PDF documents linked from the Site (e.g., program brochures, financial aid forms) may not be fully accessible. Accessible versions will be provided upon request.
- Video captions: Informational video content is being audited for closed-caption availability.
- Complex data tables: Some program cost comparison tables may require additional
scopeorheadersattributes.
